CEH

CEH is a public-sector research organisation, part of the Natural Environment Research Council (NERC). It focuses on the study of land and freshwater ecosystems and their interaction with the atmosphere, working across different disciplines and scales (from national to global). Thanks to its expertise in the fields of monitoring, analysis and modelling, CEH provides environmental data to a variety of stakeholders from several sectors (academic, public, private and voluntary sectors).

CEH research is organised across eight linked Science Areas, underpinned by two other sections (Monitoring and Observation Systems and Environmental Informatics), and centres around sixteen Science Issues. The Science Areas are: Biosphere-Atmosphere Interactions; Ecological Processes & Resilience; Environmental Informatics; Environmental Monitoring & Observation; Natural Capital; Natural Hazards; Pollution & Environmental Risk; Soil; Sustainable Land Management; and, Water Resources.
