National Training workshops for Mainstreaming Gender into E2E-EWS-FF and IFM

Under the framework of the Volta Basin Flood and Drought Management (VFDM) project, funded by the Adaptation Fund, the project executing partners (WMO, VBA and GWP-WA) are presently organizing eight National workshops on mainstreaming gender into E2E-EWS-FF and Integrated Flood management in the Volta Basin countries.

The first workshop was successfully conducted between 02 August-05 August 2021 at Bobo-Dioulasso, Burkina Faso in which 35 participants joined from various National and local agencies as well as from communities including women groups and associations.

The other workshop in Burkina Faso is presently on-going at Tenkodogo, Burkina Faso. Other National workshops in the Volta Basin countries (Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Mali and Togo) are planned to be conducted during the month of September and October 2021.

The training manual for mainstreaming gender into E2E-EWS-FF and IFM was finalized by the Associated Programme on Flood Management (APFM).
