Hybrid National training workshop with the Technicians

During the period 24th June -6th July 2021, 62 technicians selected in the six countries of the Volta Basin were invited in their own country to attend a two day national training workshop on flood and drought risk mapping for the Volta Basin region as part of the implementation of the project “Integrating flood and drought management and early warning for adaptation to climate change in the Volta Basin (VFDM)” implemented by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO), the Volta Basin Authority (ABV) and the Global Water Partnership in West Africa (GWP-AO), and financed by the Adaptation Fund. The training workshops provided opportunities to gain knowledge and skills related to the hazard impact assessment and scenario. The overall project outcome will eventually allow member countries to have flood and drought risk maps for a more appropriate and effective preparedness and response to the climate change events.
